19-01-2012 | In the skies over Kazan many paper lanterns were kindled

On the bank of Kazanka river action dedicated to the old New Year was held - about a thousand people gathered to launch paper lamps into the sky.

Participants can buy props right there at prices ranging from 60 to 200 rubles. But the weather on the day of the event summed up: besides the terrible cold there was strong wind. Lightings were difficult to run, and if it succeeded, then they flew not to water, as planned, but to buildings and trees.

Initially driven by the power of wind lightings audience greeted with enthusiasm and cheers, but by mid-evening, most pieces of paper represented a danger in connection with the burning filling: the protesters had to dodge them to keep the head away from dry fuel.

Those who came to the river wanted to see how a lot of flashlights at one moment rise into the sky, but, alas, nothing came of it. Residents of nearby houses were terrified, watching burning pieces of paper, flying past the windows.

The organizers asked not to run paper lamps, because it was not safe, but many people stubbornly did not listen - "and why we came here then?" Now in the place of unsuccessful action are lying broken flashlights.
